A Translation of an Adaptation of a Novel

This afternoon found me wasting time, completing my weekly browse of Apple Trailers. I happened upon the trailer for Howl's Moving Castle, the name of which immediately resonated with me. This animated feature is an American release of a Japanese film by Hayao Miyazaki (the creator of Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, for the neophytes). The trailer was beautiful---highlighting typical Miyazaki visual delicacy and rich storytelling. As the trailer progressed, I realized I knew the story.
Howl's Moving Castle is a novel by Diana Wynne Jones that I probably read in elementary or middle school, along with a slew of her others. I certainly recall enjoying the novels and I am ever so much more excited for the film as a result. Perhaps when I return from Europe I will reread the novels. I highly recommend both the film and the books.
