Italy

Trina and I are in Siena, having just left Florence and on our way to Rome tomorrow. Siena is a beautiful little medieval city. We climbed to the top of a sweet 83 meter tower and could see every bit of the city and countryside.
As hotels are expensive and sparse here, we are camping. We have a hotel lined up in Rome and then will take a ferry over to Greece for the middle third (third quarter?) of our trip.
Florence was beautiful but incredibly crowded---I found Venice much more manageable, especially with the lack of cars. In Florence, we went to Il Duomo (and climbed it) and to the Uffizi, where I saw an amazing spread of Renaissance art---paintings by Michaelangelo and Botticelli and Carvaggio and many others.
This keyboard is way screwed up, the spacebar responding correctly about 50% of the time. I think I will leave off for now. Perhaps I will write more during our spare time in Rome.
I am a happy boy. I have not had such a long vacation in years and certainly never with the woman I love. Check out Trina's site, she probably did a more thorough write-up of the last week given her functional spacebar.
