Air Flow Pipeline Control Valve

As I was walking down the hall towards the ECF, I passed John, from the CUC Physical Plant, who has recently been working on the heating/air-conditioning system in my lab. I asked him if he had finished with the ECF and immediately regretted the decision. He launched into a detailed description of the state of air flow and pipelines and polar bears and chillers and thermostats in my lab and office and aprised me on the probable work path he will take in fixing everything. Like a deathly frightened crab, I edged sideways past him in the hall, not daring to take my eyes off him for fear that he would realize my complete disinterest in all matters air-conditioning and set the ECF temperature to -20 out of spite. When I escaped down the hall during an opportune pause (likely only for him to catch his breath), John decided he should join me to check the current temperature in the ECF and discuss the matter more fully. Finally, I made my way into my office, backing away from him slowly, and used the universal I-am-looking-at-an-important-e-mail-face to signal his departure.
