Buying and Selling
The magnitude of the sales transactions in which I partake often seem unreasonable and imaginary. I suppose I am not yet accustomed to adulthood.
Last Thursday, I bought a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan LX with a manual transmission. The 'LX' bit means that I have a CD/MP3 CD player but no audio input jack; I have power locks and windows but no sunroof. My car is black. I have not yet named it. I already drove 1000 miles in it, taking Greenshirts to the qualifier tournament at Stanford last weekend, and I am quite happy with how it performs. So... I own a car. Me---the guy who had no license in high school. Crazy.
Today at lunch, I signed the documents to put our house on the market, listing it at $597,888.00! I will be very satisfied with any offer above 550. I cannot believe we will actually sell the house for so much. Furthermore, I cannot imagine what I would do with all the profit. Most likely, I would set aside a big chunk for capital gains taxes and then conservatively invest the rest until I am ready to buy again. Seattle real estate market here I come!
What an unexpected and uncommon life I lead.

Will you still be in SoCal early this summer? At some point I'm planning on visiting a friend who will have just moved out there.
