My Inconstancy
I seem unable to update this website on a daily basis. I would like to think this failing is indicative of my current commitment to other pursuits. So, what have I been doing that is so important?
I ran four miles at lunch on Monday and one mile yesterday, following the warm-up with 35 minutes of strenuous (for me) upper body lifting. I tempered yesterday's lack of distance with Braineater's practice, scrimmaging for almost an hour. I verily kicked one of Dorsal's flicks out of the air, at which the sideline Brains started yelling "Snakes on your plane!"
Our color printer, TIE Fighter the Xerox Phaser 860DP, is acting very ornery---changing its IP address, not clearing the queue, and not wanting to start up properly. I probably restarted it ten times yesterday, mostly to no avail. Today, I am thankful to say that our new printer is arriving. What will I name it? Our old HP plotter named C3PO is gone---perhaps the new arrival can inherit that DNS entry.
The ALGOR and ABAQUS license servers are fighting over ports 27000 and 27001 again. I made a change to the ABAQUS license file that should keep the two from drawing blood. I suppose one must expect such behavior from competing finite element analysis packages.
Claire, Amanda, and I have been discussing the state, future, and goals of the Greenshirts, especially as they relate to the roster for the traveling team. We all find difficulty in resolving social bonds and friendships with the competitiveness of the team. I believe that we will all have a clearer sense of the team by the end of the week.
Trina and I cooked corn and bean enchiladas last night as well as baking her delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Otherwise, work keeps me occupied with the random yet constant issues. I am happy to be busy.
