I Almost Didn’t Come Back…

I was driving to work this morning---yes, I need to get my bicycle fixed---and turned onto Foothill just as "Coffee" by AWOL started on Ska: The Third Wave, Volume 2. When I have a lively tune blasting, I do not want to stop driving. After this last week away from work, I almost could not bring myself to turn into the Mudd parking lot and go to work. I almost just kept going---to where, I do not know. Reason and order prevailed, although I did turn a lap around the parking lot to eke out a bit more of the tune before I parked.
I likely only have three months left working at Harvey Mudd. This prospect is both exciting and frightening. Brooke maintains that there is consulting work enough for me but I will continue to apply for actual jobs. Amazon contacted me while I was away in Baja and now I am waiting to hear back regarding the interview process. I am particularly pleased because they picked my resume off of Monster---I did not even apply for a job with them.

Bahia de los Angeles was a wonderful get-away, as expected. Although I was not always socially in tune with the group, I thoroughly enjoyed boty the active and relaxing bits of the trip. The drive was uneventful, despite torrential rain on the way down, and my new car, Sparkle Motion, performed excellently. I think I must have at least a 50% increase in gas mileage on the old Ford I was driving previously.

I am much enjoying Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell---I have approximately 150 pages left and had to stop myself from reading more last night lest I arrive at work terribly unrested. I strongly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys fantasy or historical fiction of the 18th century British sort.

I will upload photos of Bahia and write more on my experiences soon enough.
