Missing (but Running) In Action

Despite my recent silence, I have not been lax in the past few days. On Sunday, I ran 11 miles just faster than 8 minutes per mile. Finding 11 miles in Claremont without extreme uphill and downhill is difficult and frustrating. I spent 20 or 30 minutes on gmap pedometer, finally settling on a route that zig-zagged across the width of Claremont. I have not run such distance in a long time but I was quite happy with how I performed---I was not out of breath at the end of the run but my quadriceps were sore and tired. Here is the route.

I ran 3 miles yesterday at lunch in an easy 22 or 23 minutes. My legs still felt a bit sore from the long run the day before so I rode the stationary bike, after work and coaching, for 25 minutes. During the "ride," I read the New Yorker and learned all about the revival of artisanal absinthe production. I lifted as well, following the marathoner's wisdom of high repetitions of lower weight. After a relaxed stretch, I felt warm and loose and great.
I am following Hal Higdon's Advanced I Marathon Training Guide. Scott and Chuck are following this guide as well.

My weight is down around three pounds from last week. I assume this loss is from my long mileage over the weekend. I am interested to see how I fluctuate or stabilize over the course of these workouts. (I am currently 151 pounds.)
