Two More Weeks!

I have been walking the Hallowed (Hollow?) Halls of Engineering today, singing:

Two more weeks
Two more weeks
I'm only working here for
Two more weeks
Fourteen days
Fourteen days
I'm leaving Mudd in
Fourteen days

Yeah, I'm a bit excited to move on with my life. I still lack a full-time job in Seattle and I highly doubt we will sell our house but I decided to stop worrying (and love the bomb). Brian and I have renters lined up for the house and a favorable refinance outlook. Brian has begun to convince me that I will find work and that I need to be patient and persistent in my search. I agree.

I left work last Thursday, May 25th, and drove to San Francisco, meeting Whit, Brooke, Claire and Forrest at Pizza Orgasmica. I am earning my driving stripes (racing stripes?) quickly---5600 miles in the few months I've owned Sparkle Motion. Making the San Francisco trek by myself is doable although not enjoyable.

Friday morning, we drove to Zephyr Point, northeast from South Lake Tahoe, to check into our two cabins and fortify for an amazing weekend of revelry. Whit invited and gathered a wonderful group of friends spanning his entire life to celebrate his graduation from University of San Francisco. We drank and grilled and baked and hiked and disc golfed and played games innumerable. We were even "treated" to snow and hail on Saturday.

I will post photographs soon, and let them describe the entirety of the weekend. I drove to Berkeley with Whit and Forrest, picked up Claire and the Jetta from Mikey and Becky's house, and headed back to San Francisco. I ate and showered and chilled and finally slept at their apartment, only to arise at 2:30 AM, hitting the road at three. By 9:30, I was pulling into the Harvey Mudd staff and faculty parking lot, "ready" to start my work week, wondering why I had ever driven back to Claremont in the first place.

Soon, soon, everyone, I will drive north and not return, save for Lei-Out and visiting a few people whom I might care about a bit.
