Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Brooke is mildly obsessed with hair salons with pun names, such as A Cut Above or Hair Today or Head Hunter's Salon just to name a few OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. If you start looking, you will see these punny establishments everywhere. It makes you wonder: do all barbers and stylists make business decisions under the advisement of a wine coolers and strawberry daiquiris?
Anyways, I had foregone trimmings since mid-July, two weeks prior to my marathon, and the ensuing mop was quite formidable. My hair starts to curl as it lengthens but when combed straight the front reached well below my eyes.* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *
Rather than shell out $18 in cost and tip for a real haircut, I gave fifteen to my local Bartell's for a Conair eighteen-piece hair trimming kit. Most of the length attachments are wholly unneccessary, as I told AC to ignore them and get right to the scalp. Over delicious Prohibition Ales on a Friday night, he obliged.* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *
I have noticed that no one compliments me on a shaved head. Many people crack a joke, some ask if I lost a bet, and most just ask why I did it. I did not choose this haircut for reasons of vanity but instead personal enjoyment so I am not bothered by this lack of compliments. I find the difference interesting; the expected reaction to a haircut is to compliment it. I like having a shaved head and had not enjoyed such a lack since the summer of 2003. I will admit that I appear a mite bit more frightening, as intimidating as anyone who knows me at all can find me. So, in closing, you don't need to comment on my hotness: I already know.

oh such hotness!
i think the compliments may be related to the perceived cost of a hair job. maybe most compliments are born out of a desire to help the cutted justify the expense?
your "cut" doesn't look like it cost you that much... so maybe people don't feel the pressure to be nice about it. just a thought.
i think it looks good. feels nice. probably more so to you than me.
