What have I consumed in the last week?

Trina and I had beers and fries at the Elysian then saw Camera Obscura at Neumo's on Monday night. The show was simply fantastic. We were particularly amused by and endeared to Carey Lander (piano, organ, vocals) who made the cutest faces while playing---she seemed almost embarrassed to be performing on stage.

I had lunch at Wasabi Bistro with David Graves, Richard Leeds, and John Sample from NeonGecko on Wednesday. Bento Box for the win! We discussed the possibility of my working with them again, if even only half-time, and generally caught up on life. One hour later, I had an offer by e-mail, which I countered, and we had an arrangement by Friday. Exciting! I will be much busier starting next week.

Brian and I hit up Musashi and Chocolati on Thursday night. The Europa Hot Chocolate was dark and thick and indulgent, well worth the semi-ridiculous price if only once every few months. Afterwards, we walked down 45th to Hollywood Video to rent The Departed. Nicholson was a riot, as always, and everyone else performed well. I don't weigh in on Oscar hopefuls but I will say that Marky Mark is definitely winning Most Amusing Vulgarity by a Male Performer.

Friday night saw Trina, Brian, AC, Amber, Elizabeth, Matt, Robin, Sally and I enjoying a wide range of food and beer at Dad Watson's. The Terminator Stout was certainly my favorite.

Just when he has slipped out of my consciousness, I am reminded that David Sedaris is freaking hilarious.

Saturday was filled up with Frisbee until hunger overcame us and was then sated fantastically at The Honey Hole. The Wave Rider was possibly the best sandwich I have had in Seattle although Alex gave me some leads on better ones. Brian, Trina and I baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that we then shared with Dan, Amy, Alex and hosts at Hovey and Sam's place (with Deirdre out of town).

I spent my Sunday afternoon finishing the Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana in the sun on my new couch. This evening, Trina and I purchased dinner by the pound at Whole Foods and watched Word Play. The day was a thoroughly lazy and indispensable break in all the excitement.
