Back to Switzerland?
Just when I was starting to feel good again about living in Seattle, Gwyneth had to go and send me photographs of where she is working/nannying/winning life this summer. She is between Lucerne and Zurich, in the countryside above Zug. As if I needed further inspiration to leave the country...

This morning was incredible... after the rain and cold weather the past few days, today the sun rose in a crystal clear sky, turning the new snow on the alps a brilliant pink. The air was still cool, but it felt like you were just drinking up the crisp freshness of it all...
Sadly, no camera, still. Seattle may be nice enough, but... I just finalized my Swiss bank account and phone service this morning.
I think you should start planning your visit

How is August in Switzerland? Beautiful, as it is always? But will it be extra expensive and full of tourists... I suppose there won't be many tourists at your family's countryside villa. Is villa too strong a word?

August will be August - no idea what it'll be like... the Swiss probably go on holiday (Spain), but I'm sure there are others that go on holiday to Switzerland.
Villa is perfect. Well. Maybe not quite. But I would like to live in a villa. mmm.
And I noticed a picture of the bicycle you will be cycling on when you move to Europe? Looks nice
