My New House is 78 Units of Walkable
Walk Score uses Google Local listings to measure the ease of living in a particular location by number and selection of businesses within walking distance. My new house in Wallingford scores a 78. My old house in Claremont only scores a 57. What, the neighborhood doesn't get points for proximity to the Oak Park Cemetery? But that's where we released Cheese, the mouse we captured living in our house. You know, so he could gnaw on dead people.
Oh, and my home in South Hamilton scores a 75. What?! Trust me: this rating does not accurately reflect the paucity of excitement and activity in my darling hometown. Sorry, Mom and Dad.

My place scored a pathetic 20. It unfortunately doesn't recognize any of the sprawling county open spaces as parks, or as being land you can walk through, but I suppose if you're only interested in places to actually walk _to_ instead of just around then it's not a bad measure.

Apparently, our soon to be new house 1 block east of you is 82 points walkable. I suppose it might be because we're 1/10th of a mile closer to the U-District. We're looking forward to being your neighbors and hoping we get to see a bit more of you

I guess 72 plum street is the place to be. They were probably factoring in proximity to bi-lingual culture, knitting support, and home grown tomatoes, peppers, garlic, lettuce, and assorted other vegetables. what can I say?
