Rummikub at the House Meeting

Our house meeting---Claire, Deirdre, RV and me---saw my worst ever Rummikub draw: 12 turns of drawing for 26 tiles before I had opening melds totaling 25 points. Notice the point at which RV only had one tile. The second photograph, as taken with my iPhone, was the turn on which I drew the Orange 10 to push above 25 points. After my first play, RV followed and placed her remaining three tiles on my new melds. Drat!

Dude, I was way confused until I looked up the rules for Rummikub. Looks like fun, but those kinds of mathy games are dangerous for me because I always have dreams about playing them all night afterwards. It's weird. We're solid Carcassonne people ourselves, which I highly recommend. One of my friends got the dragon and princess expansion, which immediately led to the Trogdor song every time the dragon went into play.
