Sorry, Wally the Wart
Harvey Mudd was ranked as one of the 20 Ugliest College Campuses in the United States. As soon as I opened the article, I was hoping to find Harvey Mudd there. I was not expecting to find Pitzer College (another Claremont offering) on the list as well. The 20 Most Beautiful Colleges included Scripps College in Claremont, as well as my sister’s alma mater, College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.
I am bit skeptical of the lists: the writer has not visited all of the schools personally. Take his offerings with a grain of salt.

hey, wally’s a good enough looking fellow himself, but his home could use a bit of remodel… then again i haven’t seen the new dining hall/student center. is it any better?

seriously… The buildings at pitzer arn’t great, but there is no way Pitzer makes the list for ugly school. Mudd for that matter. It’s green, it has trees, it’s well kept, and the dorms are not your typical prison rooms.

I’m going to have to agree, do the mounds, chaparral, Grove House, or Farm/Outback count for nothing? Are you not entertained??? Seriously though, lame list.

Yeah, I saw that article, and it looked like he’d never been to one of the schools. His only complaint about Pitzer is that the buildings are all plain and white. Honestly, with all the murals and gardens, I never thought it was plain.
The older Mudd buildings are pretty damn ugly - the landscaping makes up for a lot.

And I think Carnegie Mellon looks nice, so far as colleges go. They’re all going to look a little institutional.

some of those pitzer buildings look pretty ugly to me, but the sick murals and greenery make up for it. but do you really think that chaparral is attractive?
