Yes We Can

This song and video truly moved me. It’s good to have hope for our country’s future, political and otherwise. I’ll be taking some time off tomorrow morning to hear Barack Obama speak at Key Arena a bit after noon.

Love the video, mostly because I’d only read parts of that speech, and it was much stronger hearing it.

Aside from having to stand in a horribly packed line for most of an hour simply because someone unnecessarily put the registration desk two feet from where they told people to congregate with their precincts, I had a lot of fun at the caucus the other day. Our precinct ended up 5-2 for Obama, with very few strong arguments from the Hillary camp (and one annoying guy who repeatedly dropped how his family knew the Clintons). Somehow the excess of Clinton signs and stickers did not actually translate to more support; I think it was more considerate that the Obama people brought water and snacks. Anyways, much more interesting than a primary, and I hope the sentiment here is indicative of more of the country. Of course, he’s probably helped out here by a distrust of traditional eastern Democrats - they feel like an entirely alien party.

You know, I’m not going to be happy if the super delegates end up deciding this thing….
