Photo Processing

I loved loved loved David Hunt’s photograph of a winding Utah road and I wanted to see what else I could get out of the image. I processed first with Lightroom for exposure, white balance and sharpening.

First Pass

I then took this image into Photoshop and played a bit more. I added more contrast, standard and overlay vignetting, and more sharpening with a high pass overlay.

Second Pass

The whole process took me around five (5) minutes. Not too bad, I’d say. For most of my photographs, I just use Lightroom, no Photoshop, and can blow through a batch rather quickly.

I’ve been on that road before, very nice and winding, it’s also featured on the 2005 documentary…

Is this the guy that plays for Monster?

Thanks for the well wishes. Rock on up there.

Wish I knew more about post-processing my photos. I should definitely checkout Lightroom sometime (or maybe Aperture).

I like the first iteration, the second looks a little harsh in the shadows of the mountain on the right though. Glad you liked the picture.
