Former GOP congressman Bob Barr declares as Libertarian presidential candidate.

Brilliant. I honestly don’t see how we, the Democratic Party, can lose the presidency. Unless Hillary somehow holds on in the nomination battle until Halloween. Or, unless the article is correct regarding Barr’s possibility to steal young, anti-war voters from Obama. Seriously? Check out that photo—Barr looks like a crazy uncle! And he’s Libertarian.

Can’t we just give the presidency to Obama already?

Confident, not cocky, right?

As a closet libertarian, I’d like to see the party get more exposure with a real candidate. (The woman running for governor here in Colorado last time had literally only one issue: stop requiring immunizations in schools. It was pathetic.) But as someone who’s voting Obama, I hope he does compete with McCain rather than my guy. I do rather think he’ll probably capture the small government Republicans rather than the Ron Paul crowd.
