My name is Carlos Andres d’Avis but most people know me as Drew. I was named for my Bolivian grandfather but my parents chose to call me by the Anglicized version of my middle name: Andrew. I was born in Los Angeles but moved to Hamilton, Massachusetts when I was a wee tyke and spent the rest of my formative years in beautiful and peaceful rural suburbia.
I returned to Southern California in the fall of 2000 to attend Harvey Mudd College, at which 8% of my first-year class was named Andrew. To adjust, and to shine as the exceptional human being I am, I became Drew.
I registered this domain name in the summer of 2001, choosing a shortening of Drew d’Avis. Since then, I always maintained some sort of personal page, moving through several visual designs and ranges of content. This WordPress blog and Gallery, er, gallery seems the most persistent and useful, although I may eat these words eventually.
