Crazy elephant shrew! This new and bizarre mammal species was discovered in Tanzania's Udzungwa Mountains. This region is well known for its wealth of biodiversity. Biodiversity is science speak for weird shit. I don't think he would make an "OM NOM NOM NOM" noise so much as a "SLURP SLURP SLURP."

OK, so this may be freaking adorable, but what amount of resource expenditure (largely in person-hours) is allocated by the English government to save the life of a single dormouse? Ridiculous. Note: I recognize that spending money on a dormouse is arguably more worthwhile than say, oh, I don't know, the war in Iraq?
