Start Your Day Right

Post 1

Check out this series of photographs of people and their breakfasts by John Huck. The photographs are beautifully taken, sure, but the subject matter is just so compelling. One photo presents only cigarettes and coffee as a woman's repast. I feel sad that she doesn't eat more but the emotion is quickly followed by self-reproach [...]

Wallingford Night Stroll with Old Lens

Post 2

When I was back east this August, my sister gave me an old lens belonging to my late grandfather, Don McLaughlin. Just when I was starting to feel good again about living in Seattle, Gwyneth had to go and send me photographs of where she is working/nannying/winning life this summer. She is between Lucerne and Zurich, in the countryside above Zug. As if I needed further inspiration to leave the country...

Wallingford Playground

If you refresh my page a few times, you will (I hope) be treated to three different photographs as header image. I thought the site could use a bit of spring flavor to balance the autumnal sunsest usually gracing my top. All three photographs were taken at Wallingford Playground, just a short jaunt from my [...]
